Just unloaded her off the flatbed. I'd been looking for a solid driver that needed some work, but found this one on Craig's List for about 2K more than rough original trucks, and it was local. The truck is from Bakersfield, CA, so it's RUST FREE. PO did a frame off about 10 years ago, so it's still super clean, although it's picked up a few small scratches and dents. Engine alone (an early 60s 235) had $3500 into it (all receipts came with the truck), and it only has about 2000 miles on it. Almost everything is new. Still needs a bit of love, like bed wood, wipers, heater, etc. but it's a driver as-is.

Still has the original torque tube rear and sm420 4 sped, so there will be some updating in the future to make it highway worthy.

Patience paid off in this case. Can't wait for the summer!!!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Nice truck! Glad you found it close to home. Great to begin with a good engine.

Scott - I'm in CT, where they LOVE to use salt on the roads, so I'm no stranger to frame and floor rot. I bought this from a guy on Long Island who "imported" it from CA about 10 years ago and did all the work on it. It's my first "close to done" vehicle, and I have to say that it's kind of nice seeing the $16K in receipts knowing that I paid nowhere near that much, and the real hard work is already done.
