welcome aboard. Don't be shy - send along the pictures of the truck and reports on your project's progress. There are a few of us here in S MD. Nice to have another local-bolter. 1/2ton or bigger?

Ditto to what Brother Hambone says! Welcome aboard and we look forward to meeting you in person one of these days at Stovebolt HQ.

Well, hello neighbor. We know there are a few old GM trucks around here but we just see them here and there. (Don't really get to Calvert County much either.)

Wow, you have been here a good while (2011).

You'll have to watch for the Homecoming here in April - in Oakville. A lot of fun. We also have the ODSS group. They will be out again this season to help with Christmas tree sales. Come on by.

We are actually just north of Hollywood Fire Station, a farm among the Mennonites.

Here's a link to the main Stovebolt. The others are listed near the bottom.

Yea, there is a lot to learn at Homecoming. It's wrenching for a weekend!

The other guy you are referring to (on the right side south) is Ray. Good guy, friendly and maybe worth a visit. He is working on cars, but he may know of parts.
Otherwise welcome back to the group. Look forward to seeing what you are working on and don't be shy about asking for help. I like fieldtrips.

Thanks Hambone. let me bring you up to speed on our project. Its a 55 second Series long bead, I have swapped the six for a SB 350 backed with a TH400, I have the bed off, and I am dropping the front axle going to blast it paint and rebuild it then taking the cab off placing it on a cart and doing the wielding /body work ( front lower hinge pockets, door step, rear corners on both sides) as well as some floor patching! I also have the front sheet metal off . all parts need attention.
I also plan to install a Blazer 25 gal. fuel tank and a 12 bolt rear I got out of another truck... My skills are in fiberglass fabrication always willing to help.. Please chime in ! Oops I forgot I have a tilt wheel column from a 79 van to graft in ! Thanks Bo

Peggy;

You guys are in Maryland. Can't you just look out the window and see the other end of the state?? It aint like you live in Texas. :-)

Thanks

Larry -- No, we have something here the Texans have no experience with -- humidity. Plays havoc with the visibility. Some days, we can't even see the mailbox.

We also have trees.

Reminds me of an old joke:

Texas Rancher and a Maryland Farmer were comparing properties one day.

Texan: "Why I can get in my truck at Dawn, drive all day, and still only be halfway across my spread at dusk."

Marylander: (spits) "De By Gawd, Cap'n -- I had me a truck like that once."
