I need some help i have a 72 gmc 2500 and i was hoping someone would beable to tell me where the wire that comes off of the blower motor goes i know it goes to the fuse box but where at i have been told that it hooks in with the lighter and i was also told that it goes with the radio so any help with this problem would be great if not maybe you can tell me where i should hook it in to thanks for all your help in advance

A little friendly advice. This is a great site for technical information but when people come on here seeking it and don't use any capitals and punctuation they often get ignored. To expect people to try to decipher what you typed and then give you information is asking a lot.

It's funny maybe, but I didn't have any problem reading his post, understanding what he wanted, and didn't even notice the lack of punctuation and capital letters until you pointed it out. The brain is an amazing thing.

I don't know a thing about 72's, but out of a shear desire to help after that good natured ribbin :), I imagine your hot wire (not ground) should be coming from your fan speed control. If you don't already have one, get a cheapy harbor freight multimeter. I got mine for 10 bucks with a coupon and it works great. That's probably the first step to any electrical work.

On most 70's trucks, there is a speed control resistor in the air box with about 4 wires attached to it. One of them goes to the blower motor. There should also be a high speed fan relay mounted to the firewall near the blower that bypasses the resistor assembly. The wire from the fuse box goes to the switch assembly in the heater control unit at the center of the dash. It's usually a 20-amp fuse marked "Heat" or sometimes A/C if the truck has factory-installed air conditioning.

thanks a lot i will have to check it out today it is starting to get cold out now so i need to get it fixed so i really appreicaite all the help i am just trying to get it up and going so maybe next year it will be ready for paint i got a really good deal on the truck they just wanted to junk it so i got it for $500.00 so thanks again
