I have a 1965 Chevy truck and I was thinking about keeping the stock AM radio in the dash but have a remotely located IPOD system in the glove box or under the seat. I am not looking for a great big system, just a little better stereo sound. Has anyone done this or does anybody have images of a similar system? Thank you...

This guy will have something. Fits in the factory hole and looks stock. But you can hook up cd changer Ipod and a usb port.

Also has a spot in the back to plug in your USB with preloaded music

There are several different brands of Marine AM/FM radios that utilize a cabled remote. You could mount the head unit in the glove box, under the dash or whatever and have the remote easily accessible.

I haven't done this but have considered it. The 1st paradigm you have to break is thinking that the dash radio has to be connected to your mp3 system. It doesn't. You can leave your in-dash AM radio completely stock. You can install a completely separate amplifier and speakers for use with your mp3 player. Any competent stereo shop will be able to do this, or you can do it yourself at minimal cost.
$50 - $100 for the amp
$50 - $300 for speakers
$100 for installation

Leon

Thats along the same idea i would like to do.
I have a 40 truck with no place to put a radio without cutting it up.
My phone has music as well as radio so id like to rig up a system to utilize it.
I think all i need is the stuff Leon suggested.
I could use a volume control in one of the slots in the dash and just hook up a plug in in the phone.

Your phone already has a volume control.
Unless you think the convenience of one in the dash is worth the effort.

A bit on the pricey side, but I love my Secret Audio setup. http://www.casmfg.com/Secretaudio.htm

Classic Auto Sound, EPAY STORE LINK has them, I'm getting the itch to buy one but it might be a hard sell to the boss since we are both unemployed.
