For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 1 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 1 | I bought a 1962 C10 this week that has the original drivetrain; 235, 3 on the tree. I realized I had not owned a vehicle with a 235 and found this site while gathering information.
I had a 1965 C10 v8 back in the 80s that I enjoyed and put quite a bit of work into it.
I also currently have a 64 wagon that I drive about 150 miles a week.
When I get more familiar with this forum, I will post some pictures and more information about my new 50 year old truck.

I think you are going to like having the original 235 and drive train in your 62. There are good reasons the 235 is known as "GM's Cast Iron Wonder". The 235 was produced during five decades. If you ever feel like your original drive train needs an upgrade, your truck is a perfect candidate for an original 3 speed on the column overdrive transmission - first introduced in 1955 Chevy trucks and cars. I have that same engine but it is in a 1946 2-ton, and I am thankful for that. Sounds like you will fit right in. This site is a bonanza of great advice and folks working to keep old GM on the road. If you need any help posting pictures gimme' a shout and I will be happy to assist. LevisPop
