hi guys i just bought a 1952 3100 with a 235 and i plan to run this as is.. but i would be interested in getting
a little moore power out of i.. its already got a split exhaust manifold on there. is there a intake manifold and carb setup i should look for?

any thoughts gentelmen?

You might check which head it has on it. There was a higher compression head made for the 235 which you will like. The casting number was 3836848, I believe.

It was used as the replacement head for the 6 cylinder Corvette engine among other stock 235 uses. It was also the head of choice for folks building a 261 racing motor.

Don't fret if you don't have that head. By far ther more common approach to hopping up a 235 was to mill the head 040.-.050. Doesn't make all that much difference anyway. These were low comprsssion engines in the 6.5-7.0:1 range.

ok noted ,what do you guys think about intakes? is a dual or even triple just for looks but moore hasle or is ther any gain
in this?

A properly selected multi carb setup will offer modest improvment in power and economy. Most setups fall short of ideal.

Others might disagree, but I believe it is totally worth the hassel to be able to say you have trips. The biggest hassel is opening your hood everytime somebody wants to see them.
