or is that a new old fart?
Intro, owner of www.airkooledkustoms.com
Even though I own a resto shop that specializes
in early vws, I am a car guy, gear head, and have a
soft spot for vintage steel.
Hammer and dollys, english wheels, shrinking disks and lead rods are what fuels my love of shinny, yes I love the smell of clear, Color sanding is a good weekend for me, call me crazy, My wife does
My last truck build is a 62 VW Single Cab drop gate, heavily modified drive train and suspension, new kustom insides if you are curious pic fie is here http://photobucket.com/spooksSC62
Current build i stuffing a 5.9 RT 2003 motor into a 4x4 2000 dakota , the mech are done on that one and is waiting for body work time, some of its panels are ready most are not , http://photobucket.com/2KSLTRT4X4
this last summer while visiting my dad in South Dakota , I happened across a '49 chev 1.5 ton, at a steal of a price , could not pass it up. http://photobucket.com/49duel1tonchev
Plans for the truck, Diesel motor swap, ( new trans)
disk brakes , air bag susp, and a rollback bed.
or maybe custom truck bed, looking like a bigger version on the smaller truck.

Welcome, Elderspook, to the 'bolt. It's the best site for old Chevy/GMC trucks on the web. Looks like you've done some interesting projects. smile

That '49 truck looks solid and will be a great project. Looking forward to hearing more about it. We have a special forum for those 1 tons.

Welcome aboard, and happy 'bolting!

Welcome to the site, sounds like you're not intimidated by radical projects. So, are you planning to use the '49 as a work truck?

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
