I have a problem with the carbs stumbling/popping upon acceleration (appears to be in the primary). It idles great, has a manifold heater and does not have any vacuum leaks. I believe the primary emulsion tube is too restrictive...I need the next size or so. The tubes are stamped 150 for the primary and 250 for the secondary...Is my assumption reasonable? Secondly, where do you find/buy replacement emulsion tubes...I've called a Weber vendor and he won't even talk about Carter Webers! Any suggestions or direction?

Jon (carbking). Good carburetion is fuelish hot airThe most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify. If you truly believe "one size fits all," try walking a mile in your spouse's shoes! The Carburetor Shop

A patient and knowledgeable gent. Does anyone know if Weber replacement emulsion tubes will work in the Carter copy? Has anyone tried drilling the existing tubes to modify performance?

Out of the box, they were near perfect. Great idle, no hesitation and clean burn with the secondaries.
However, I learned from my experience with the single Holley/Weber, that the stock fuel pump needed to be throttled down with a regulator. I'm now running 3.5 psi at the carbs and couldn't be happier. I bought an inexpensive regulator and gauge from Azone.
I don't know if this will help you with your problem but it works for me. I just can't imagine that with your timing on the money that you'd be having to make any major changes to the jetting.
