Raise the front end & pull, tug, & push on the front wheels making notes of any looseness. It is obviously a combiation of many parts, the worst being the steering gear itself.

Thank, guys! I'll have to check that out, this weekend. I don't mind the play TOO much on the e-way... But, on busy surface streets, with vehicles on either side, it's gets a bit unnerving.
