Modern wheels are offset in to far. I have a set of newer 4x4 rims on there to roll around on. The rims were on it when I got it (from my dad) so I am not sure what they came off of but they seem to work decent for now. By the look of them and the fact they went on sometime in the 90's would make me guess they are pre 89' like bigbadswingdaddy suggested. stare when I ask for a certain model and year of wheel. About all they’re familiar with is
the bolt pattern and it seems they don't have a clue as to what the offset is or what year
they are off of. At one yard that’s been here for 50 years the owner couldn’t even tell me
whether the wheels were off of a Chevy, Ford or Chisler.
What would really be helpful would be a good accurate guide or chart with some pictures
and dimensions of the different year rims that fit the unmodified AD. With that in hand
one could head out to the pile of rims at the junk yard and start pickin' with some
confidence.
Any one body out there got enough time and knowledge to come up with a list like
that????
