I've reworked the doors on my '50 3100. I can't get the passenger door to lock. I can lock the door from the inside and no matter what I can open the door with the outside handle. I also installed a new lock and as I've read here the new locks are junk. No way I can get the new lock working. I would be happy if I were able to get the inside lock working. I've had this thing apart several times and no matter what, when the door is locked from the inside the outside handle will turn, unlock and open the door. Has anyone else dealt this issue? Thanks.

Achipmunk, thanks for the info. I went thru the shop manual info but can't seem to find the problem. With the door panel off I can lock the door from the inside. I then open the door from the outside and can see the lock mechanism toggle forward and push the door lock remote bar out of it's locked position. I've tried adjusting and repositioning but get he same result. I checked for the same type of action on the drivers side. The drivers side lock mechanism does not toggle forward far enough to cause this problem on the drivers side when opened from the outside. Drivers door locks great. Tomorrow I will try to get a pic.
