Today was supposed to be the big day, bringing my truck home. She made it almost to the house and died. When I put the starter to the floor I got no action. I pushed her in the driveway, and now when I turn the key to on, sometimes it will give me juice (my heat lamp comes on and fuel gauge kicks up to where I know its on), but as soon as I begin to press down on the starter, everything goes dead. No cranking action. I have an alternator installed, but it is the original engine with pedal start. I checked all of my fuses, and they are ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I had the same thing happen to me. Turns out my battery had slid to the side as I cornered and it made contact with the floor shorting the battery out. Lights and gauges worked, but as every time I tried to start it everything would go dead. The battery never fully recovered.

Thanks for the reply! I found the problem. Battery read 75% on my meter, but my negative ground was loose. Tightened her up, and all is better!

Make sure that you also have a ground from the starter bolt to the frame. With a 6 volt system grounds are real critical.
