I still just have the cab only on the chassis. I wanted to make sure everything was working as it should before adding anymore sheet metal. I was really looking forward to getting all the mechanical things done since I have the most experience in this area and thought it would go without a hitch. It did not. But thanks to help from the forum and info in the archives I was able to work through all the little issues that came up and everything is functioning perfectly. Did the engine run-in for 20 minutes and then couldn't resist the urge to drive it around the property a little bit. Very happy guy so far. I just got enough of the front clip back on mine '50 to take her out for a test run last week. First time she's been out of the garage in nearly two years. The cab and rest of the frame are gonna have to wait till bad weather when I can't drive it any more.
Great job, I can, from first hand experience understand what you had to go thru to get to where your at.

It's nice to share and get feedback from people who understand or at least appreciate one's efforts. All of my friends and co-workers can't understand why I want to spend so much time with this old truck. Most of them don't even have enough interest to look at it.
As a lifelong motorcyclist I learned a long time ago that the journey was usually more interesting than the destination. I have done a lot of projects over the years but my goal was always completion and the work was just something to get done as fast as possible to get there. With this project I have been enjoying the journey all the way. I have an ultimate goal of finishing the truck but I am not in a hurry to get there. The information provided by this forum is key to making this whole project fun instead of frustrating.
