...of the season. Of course it took a new battery, fresh gas and adding some brake fluid. My master cylinder sprung a small leak it seems. So I just took it a couple of miles but it sure was nice to hear the old girl awake from her long winters nap and purr for me. Nothing sounds better than an old Stovebolt, man that is music to my ears.

Now it's up on the hoist for her so I can replace that master cylinder then fresh wash and wax. Cruise time baby..

Winter nap, I hear ya. Over on the Western Slope we get the cold and you guys on the Eastern Slope get the snow. My 52 (has a female personality) really prefers to run once the temps get into the upper 40s. I go out once or twice a week and fire her up, bring her up to operating temps and hold that for a while. That's just to keep things lubed and loose. This weekend I am stripping the interior. The P.O. stripped then painted the interior. He stripped to metal then painted. Lots of rust under the paint, but not to bad, so back to metal then epoxy primer then correct color coat.

I still have not driven my truck...Its killing me.So much work to do...I wish I had a dirt road out in the middle of no were..I could throw the tires back on and take her for a spin. of Coarse I would be sitting on a 5 gallon bucket...but who cares.. M/G... Wesminster

I also had my first drive today. The Suburban has a new 3.55 rear-end and bearings/bushings. It drove smoothly and quietly. Have to re-adjust and re-bleed the brakes and then I am ready for the mid-June trip to Macungie, PA.

Yes, cruise-time.

I'm hoping to have the engine back in my beast today, and get the rest of the drive train done this week. IF things go well I'll have her fired up shortly and movin under her own power in a couple weeks. I can NOT wait!

yea i finally took my baby out for her maiden voyage with the new bed, new paint, new led tail lights. she was smokin tires with ease

Mike G. - sitting on a 5 gallon bucket, eh? Well that is exactly what my wife was doing while steering the 57' Chev out of the shop so I could turn it around. The new tilt steering column was only temporarily set in and she pulled back on the wheel, it can off and she fell off the bucket while the car started down the ramp. All the while I'm screaming "hit the brakes" which she couldn't find. Oh man! We just about hit a tree but managed by the grace of God to get it whoa'd. Very close call. I just got it back from 6 months at the body shop with new paint and visions of a big crash were going thru my mind. All is well now and it's backed into the shop so I can take the doghouse off and stick the new mill/tranny combo in it. Thank God she kept her cool and found the brake pedal with her hand. I think I went to the house to change my shorts.

Dave...Amazing job on your truck, the Interior is spectacular,Juniper green is the origanal color of my truck,and I will keep that color. I absolutly have to start posting pics of my project so everyone can take a look at my progress, about the bucket.....Its not to stable going around a corner...thank god she did find them brakes,and they were bled correctly. ha ha ha .M/G
