But after filling it up with coolant, I noticed a severe leak from the water pump! I think it must be leaking from the shaft. Maybe the seal dried up since it has been sitting dry for 30 years. I guess I need to replace the water pump.
I am pretty disappointed, I was excited to fire the engine up. It depends on how much room there is between the fan and the rad. On my truck, (inline 6) I have to remove the rad.

Maybe I'll double check all the hose connections. But the leak is so bad I can't imagine it would be a loose hose. Now I am fully aware of the difference between a short shaft 5/8 pump and a long shaft /16". I also took note of the weep hole never noticed that before!).

I fooled with it for a couple hours. It seemed to be getting spark. And I put fuel in the carb now and then. It even sputtered now and then. Maybe I should have replaced the head?
