i have a 66 chevy c/60 with a 366 cid big block i use:
oil : 10w30 or 10w40
manual tranny: 80w90 gear oil
brakes: dot3 brake fluid

Never run anything less than 15W-40 in my '69 or '90 trucks as this was advise from my local GM mechanic so I feel 30W is fine. Also running lead additive in fuel. Just my 2 cents
