I just bought this big guy. I am driving it 500 miles home from NY this weekend with my wife. Should be an adventure!

Just got back from driving my new (to me) '68 C50 wrecker home 500 miles! Not the cheapest ride at 6mpg, but lots of fun! The ol' 292 ran like a top from western NY all the way to Boston.

I hate when people leave their brains at home. Seriously when did critical thinking and customer service go out the window? How about common sense and striving to go the extra mile? Idiots, surrounded by idiots it tell you.

Alex, I have a ton and once I get them posted, I will get the link over here in a hurry!

My boys (3 and 5) and I were playing with the booms and winches until my wife yelled at us to come in at dark tonight. BIG FUN!

Silverado, I am down on the South Shore close to Weymouth.

WOW!, BIGJIM71, That looks like a Ernest Holmes model 485. Can you find a Serial no. plate on the right side of the wrecker boom mast. The model 485 units were built from Jan. 1931, until June 1935, only 139 units built. There was a model 490 built from March 1934, until April 1949, but the 490's had webbed booms. I've owned 3 Holmes 515's, 2 Holmes 525's, 1 Heavy Duty Holmes W35, 1 Heavy Duty Holmes W45, & 4 Holmes 600's.
