These were naturally noisey in thr lower gears but if it,s excessive they are easy to o-haul. If the syncro,s work O.K. & it doesn,t jump out of gear it probably needs bearings. They are readily available along with gaskets & seals at an auto parts store. If it needs some hard parts you will need to contact one of the trans. specialty shops like Fatsco trans. parts.

(Someone posted you can tell them apart by the lock out lever for reverse.) It was very loud when i bought it, but i drained all the fluid and rinsed it out with mineral spirits. Refilled with the best 90w i could find. it seems much quiet now. but still sings in lower gears.
