The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot '60-'66 Trucks My 1961 Chevy Apache stepside C10

I had a 1986 GMC pickup with a 396 big block with 44" Gumbo's on it. I was wanting to sell it or trade it for something more feasible, and preferably a classic...I decided one day to stop by a house down the road from me where they always had an old classic setting out or in their shop. The more I talked to the guy, I learned that he had this truck which had a new 350 in it and I think it was more work than he wanted. So, I told him about my "monster", and he decided to come take a look. Needless to say, a few days later we traded straight up. It came with all the glass, (need rubber for back glass), fenders & tailgate done & wrapped in plastic and just a few miles on the motor. The previous owner had put the truck on a '88 Blazer chassis, which I wouldn't have done, but all works good. So far, haven't done much besides put a brand new chrome bumper on the front & bolted the fenders on. The floor pans need replaced, as well as the cab mounts, but the rest of the body is in very good condition. I plan to put updates on as soon as I get there. So any advice on floor pans & cab mount replacement will be greatly appreciated. (we do know this is not a '61 hood on here, but it works) And if anyone knows what goes on the front grill, appreciate it if you pass the info along. Thanks!

Most parts you want can be found from vendor right in your own state. JimCartes in Independence and just a few mile over the way in Kansas City is Classic Parts. Others are American Classic, and more in the links section here.

Since not everyone visits here in the Welcome center you will be much better posting your specific questions in the most appropiate forum. That will get you more view which will mean more responses and answers.

There is tons of information here and folks who are willing to share their knowledge. Good luck and keep us posted.
