For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 235 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2005 Posts: 235 | I tripped over a 4.10 rear end with a no spin locker in it and bought it. When I got it to the shop I disassembled it to give it a thorough cleaning. Now I'm putting it back together, and I can't figure out a good way to get 85-90 lbs of torque on a 60 lb. Frisbee! I don't want to torque against the pinion gear, that seems like a bad plan, and a good way to chip or break gears... Suggestions? Anyone?

Use it as an anchor as you tighten the other bolt. Keep rolling the ring gear around one bolt at a time and wedging the one you just tightened until you go all the way around. Jerry
