I tripped over a 4.10 rear end with a no spin locker in it and bought it. When I got it to the shop I disassembled it to give it a thorough cleaning.
Now I'm putting it back together, and I can't figure out a good way to get 85-90 lbs of torque on a 60 lb. Frisbee!
I don't want to torque against the pinion gear, that seems like a bad plan, and a good way to chip or break gears...
Suggestions?
Anyone?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Pick out a ring gear bolt head one or two spaces away from the one you want to torque, and wedge a piece of flat stock between that one and the carrier housing. Use it as an anchor as you tighten the other bolt. Keep rolling the ring gear around one bolt at a time and wedging the one you just tightened until you go all the way around.
