Is there an easy way to determine if the sagging rear end 49'3100 pickup is the result of bad springs?

Look at each leaf to see if it is cracked or broken. This also includes the front springs as it can cause the truck to lean one way or the other.
Do some measuring from chassis to ground just to see where the lot or high point is. Be sure to check the shackles and make sure one of them is not positioned wrong or broken. While checking them look at the bushing. You may be able to tell if one is just totally worn out. Even a really bad shouck could make it appear to be off balance.
.... and remember, these trucks were once farm trucks and one loaded really heavy going over some terrace rows could have twisted the frame.
