I put on what I thought was enough paint, sprayed the clearcoat and buffed it out with liquid ice. The primer in some areas show. What prep work do I need to do to continue with the painting. I'd say if you don't have enough color under the clear coat, the clear coat needs to come off

I am no expert but the painting "demonstrator" that work out of the PPG shop said for solid colors you could sand the clear with 800-1000 and shoot more base and then reclear. He said with metallics the clear should be removed. I am using a solid color and that system worked great for me.

I'm no paint pro but if were going to buff I'd certainly wet sand with 800 grit to knock off any irregularities first. | | |
