I'm installing a B&M trans cooler with a fan on my 57. Need some mounting location ideas. The normal areas in front of and behind the radiator are taken up with a pusher fan/shroud and overflow bottle.

Looking for ideas on where else to mount. Under bed? Under floor? How?

Hi-Tek Automatic Transmission Cooling System 13-1/2"x9"x3-1/2" with 9-1/2" diameter fan and it will not run to the radiator.

thanks in advance...

Some suggestions: (1) Mount it inside a frame rail away from the exhaust,(2)mount it under the bed, but away from the driveshaft area,(3) mount it under the cab floor on the passenger side.
As to how to mount it: you will have to fabricate some brackets that are designed for the area you choose.

I mounted mine back under the bed with plenty of space above and below it. It doesn't have a fan on it and after 11 years the fluid still looks and smells like the day I put it in. I am running a Turbo 350 with shift kit in a 3200 lb truck, I have pulled trailers and drag raced it. As long as it gets air flow, you can put it any where. The low to the ground street rods just tuck them into the frame rails with out problems. Some of the first Power glides were air cooled, they just cut holes in the bell-housing and had some sort of fins on the converter, and they lasted for ever!

I'm running a B&M cooler w/fan in one of my trucks and have it mounted under the bed. Geographically, I saw no need to run through the radiator to pre-heat the ATF. However, it might be something you would want to consider as Pensacola gets mighty cold in the winter.

The fan/cooler doesn't require a whole lot of space for air passage and I just used some flat band stock and rubber cushions to secure the assembly. I may have some pics in my Webshots F100 album.

My walker radiator has tranny cooler built in but I chose to use a remote cooler to avoid running the lines. I had just finished piping the brake lines and had had enough bending.
