I'm new here and restoring a 63 GMC 1000.

The '63, if I am reading the VIN right, is the 32nd one off the line in Pontiac. I'm pretty sure it's lived it's whole life in Michigan. It's got the original "spiral type" shocks on it still too.

I plan on taking out the 305 V6 and swapping in a Cadillac Northstar 4.6L V8.

Wish me luck.

Welcome to Stovebolt! Go on over to the General Truck forum and ask there. You should get a few responses about the VIN number. We are glad you joined! Good Luck! wave

Thanks all, and thanks Chris for the offer to help with the Northstar. I've been trying to get the 305 running. I'm an automotive student so my lab time has been minimal as finals approach.

I am glad to be part of such a health and friendly forum.
