For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 | This may be a foolish question , but, in trying to get my 54 235 to tic the shop manual states to line up the U/C mark on the ring gear with the pointer. In the searches on this forum there is either an arrow or a silver ball that you line up with the pointer. My ring gear has both so which one do I use? This is a canadian built truck if it makes any difference. The ball, which will be a few degrees advanced from TDC is what you use to set ignition timing. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 | Ah, so the arrow on the ring gear is the U/C mark, that is why there is both.It seems the 2 get interchanged in old forum posts.
