The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts Art Deco COE Cabs

I'm tearing into my art deco COE and am wondering if the COE cabs are really that different from the pickup cabs. The doors are different along with a rocker panel/sill plate metal piece that bolts in place. But other than that it looks like a PU cab. Anyone have any thoughts on this. I don't know the art deco PU cabs at all I just thought it was interesting that the rocker/sill sheetmetal bolted in.

Like you mentioned, other than then the front lower rockers/doors and the floors, they are fairly identical. All the parts from a pickup to a large truck will pretty much swap out.

On my 46 COE chevy the windshield - dash - seat - all glass - top cowl vent and wiper are all identical to a pickup

I knew all that stuff matched. I also think the the entire cab minus the sill plate deal is the same.

Right but I see from your pics a lot of different parts from a Chevy COE and a GMC COE. The floor hump over the valve cover is totaly different and mine dosen't have those dividers under the seat. Are your left and right floor inserts steel? Mine are plywood.

Yes my floor pans are steel and my valve cover does not come back into the seat frame. The GMC has 2 bomber looking seats the shifter comes up between them and I have a hand lever I push to the right of the driver seat that engages the starter. I wonder if chevy floor panel were wood from the factory.

I'm 99.9% sure they were wood.I have the starter pedal right in front of the seat and the linkage gos in between the intake and exhaust manifolds.It's wild how they are two totally different designs.

COE cabs have vent doors in the sides of the cowl whereas the pickup cabs do not.
