After a two hour struggle trying to get the speedometer out. We finally did. Now we just need to get it sent out and originally restored, the right way.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good places to have a restoration on it done?

Also same for the radio. What is the best place to have it sent out to and fully restored to it's original state.

Thank you in advance!

I find the big Hemmings magazine to have a wealth of information on these items. You may want to have a look at one.

tc50truck, I have used D&M Restorations in Greenville S.C. for over 10years. Mike does a really good job. I have watched him work and he stands behind what he does. Give them a call, tell Terry that Alvin/theChipmunk said hello.
number is 864-254-9989 and I think this is their Toll Free # 800-722-0854

Mike has done this for many years... several years when he lived up around Mass. I think..or NJ?

I had D&M do my speedometer. No complaints, and a quick turnaround.

Can you give a price to have the speedo rebuilt? Took mine to a local guy and was quoted 340$. Can that fella beat that?

When Mike did mine Speedo about a year ago the price was $135. He put a new head in and I had already did the facing. I also took him the new needle to put on it and he put the letters on the mileage wheels. Then again my 37 was a different animal and I had a little more in it....about $200.
Like a lot of things, it depends on what all it needs. Call them and ask for an "average" as he has done many of them....or drop it in one of those cheap priority mail boxes and send it to him for an estimate. With the money your talking about and with the potential savings I'd not worry about $10 postage to either get it done or sent back to another place.
I'm not sure it'd help but tell Terry, or Mike, that I said to call.... .and to give you a discout. I've known and done business with them for about 15 years so he "might" help you out?
