Book says to install rubber on truck and work the glass in. I have tried and tried with no luck. Any tips?

The hardest part is holding the glass (like a greased pig). It works real easy as 2 person job. One to hold the glass and the other to pull the string. To put the retaining bead in, get a paint can opener, they work really well and of course plenty of soap.
Tape the rubber to the cab using good masking tape. It will tear as you pull the string. Then remove the torn peices of tape after the glass is in and before the bead goes in.

We were at it for a good while but making progress. Alot of frustration, and stress, but we got it in. And to top it off.. As soon as the seal seated, and all was well.... The glass cracked top to bottom on the right side. Its a interior crack that you can't feel from either side, so I am just going to leave it for now. May just pay a glass shop next round.

Another reason I had mine made in tempered glass,it's so much more forgiving.

To add to that,the rear glass should be about 1/4" smaller than the aperature. This does not apply to front windshields.
