I need to replace the 235 in my 57 3200 long bed stepside and want to know what years newer than the 57 would be straight drop ins. I want to stick with the 235 and my block has a major crack at the #2 main journal and I can't use it. :confused: | | |

As long as your going to change it anyway... why not a 261? It is still a bolt in change, and will make your 57 a pleasure to drive. There are some small things you may have to do to accomplish the swap... example: the 60-62 235s used a hydralic clutch you would have to use your 57 bellhousing and clutch linkage. | | |
