I think the application was for a 283 of that era. There is just a wire from the gauge to the unit. It reads at 170 once warmed up. I have yet to check accuracy, but I think it's close as my truck runs cool. | | |

In that case, THAT sending unit came with my gauges from Dolphin. Same thing though, there is wire to the larger than stock unit from the gauge. No tubes. | | |

It,s a good idea to put vacuum hose over it where it might rub something like going through the fire wall & support it good. If it fails it can ruin the engine. If it is an electric gauge you need a sender to match the brand of gauge. You use the outlet the light sender is in. If you want to use both you can get a pipe T. They say money can't buy happiness.
