His job was to watch all of the water, oil and fuel connections for leaks. After about 30 seconds of cranking, the old geezer started and varoooooom! Ran it for 20 minutes to break in the cam and then shut it down. Dual exhaust system sounded great although I had to take Hank's word for it as I was sitting in the cab. Two minor oil leaks around the newly installed filter. Can't wait to get the minor things fixed and get this truck back on the road! http://community.webshots.com/user/geezer | | |

Do have a tip for ya if you haven't changed it already. On the lines going behind the thermostat housing that you put pieces of hose around, ya might look at using rubber coated line clamps to keep them steady. Those ones aren't the best, just some heat shrink on a line clamp. The nicer ones that are pretty much like what we use in aircraft plumbing are Adel, neoprene cusioned line clamps . Now THOSE are the poo, I use them on any hardline project. You can bolt a couple together to keep lines from rubbing (beats zip ties!), and/or use a bracket to affix long lines in place to prevent vibration.

When the engine started up, my oil pressure went to 60 psi for a little while then settled out between 30 and 40 psi. Of course, new oil, filter and a tight engine. Will see how it does after I get a few hundred miles on it.

Thanks for the tips. May just give them a try. Wasn't very happy with the tiewraps and hose but Hey, it works for now. Really wanted to use billet clamps but couldn't get them to fit the way I wanted. | | |
