Im trying to decide on which carb to run. ive got a worn out b rochester thats basically trash. tom langdon didnt recommend the h/w for the 261. I've got a 261 also with a Rochester B on it. Next summer I will be looking for a Carter YF from an American Motors 258 inline six to try on my truck. Engine displacement is about the same so it should work pretty well I would think. I've also got a 292 that I will look for a Carter from a Ford 300 inline six for. | | |

My "B" has given me a fair amount of trouble and I am good with carbs.

It bolted right up with no modifications needed to my linkage or fuel line. But,I did have to run a new vacuum advance line, but that was not a big problem.
The best part is that you can keep your oil-bath air cleaner for that "original" look! | | |
