When I got it it was seized up, would not turn spindles (stear)at all. I took it apart with no problems at all, the problem is the kingpin is standard size .866, BUT the bushing is big 1.087, standard is 1.051. Nothing is worn at all, all tight, maybe too tight, that's why it was seized. There is not a groove cut in the outside of the bushing but there is a small groove cut in the inside. At this rate the bushing is .036 over standard, could this be a homemade bushing? Does anyone have any idea how to proceed from here, I don't think I can reuse them as one of them was damaged during removal. Are the spindles off of my 41 the same, could I use the 41 spindles on the 54 axle, the 41 axle would need oversize kinpins.

This bushing is .036 over on the O.D. I am not good at links but search for him in the forum or Google one of those names. I found him to be very helpful and ready to give good advice based on lots of experience. I am very pleased with the work he did on my spindles and the other parts I got from him.

This hole must line up with the greage zerk opening in the spindle in order to lubricate the assembly. Also, don't forget that the thrust bearing can be installed upsidedown so be carefull and get it right in the first place. Use as many spacer- shims as necessary to eleminate axle to spindle verticle movement. Use a new grease zerk, and be sure grease will travel through the spindle before assembly, Good luck. Have any problems, ask, we are here to help.....
