Hi all,
I am brand new here. I used to have a 48 Chevy pick up abaout 25 years ago and recently I found a 52. I was at a guys place in southern Mississippi looking for a place to put bees and he pointed at it and mentioned a price. I just said it looked like a nice project for someone. I started thinking about it on the drive back to Kentucky and thought it might be a good project for me. This is embarrasing but I dont even know if it's even a 5 window! I will be returning there tomorrow to check it out further. He said it's all original except for tires and rims, and oh yeah it runs too! He jumped on a running board to show me it still had suspension. It definitley needs paint. It seemed solid body wise. I will know a lot more later this week but $2,000.00 seems like a deal. I will post some pictures when I flat bed it back here this weekend. I am looking forward to this site for tips and ideas for a restore.

It doesn't really matter how many windows you've got,all that matters is you're saving another old Chevy truck!

It sounds like a really good truck and for that kind of money,it's hard to go wrong.

Hi all,
Back from Mississippi with the truck. Hauled it on a flat bed and got her up here to Kentucky and did a little work yesterday and today. Number 1 it is not a 5 window. It's a 52 3100 that is mostly original. It has been converted to 12 volt and has a steel plate welded in the bed. 4 speed on the floor straight 6. The body it self is pretty solid. There is a few things wrong as can be expected. The windshield is broken along with the drivers window and wing window. There is a sheared bolt holding one of the hood brackets, the head liner is ripped and falling down cardboard, all of the door seals and window seals will need to be replaced. The radio is missing and various retainer clips on the knobs on the dash are gone. The rubber mat on the floor has seen better days but that is all pretty minor as I see it as long as I can find the parts. I put in a new battery along with brass cable ends, I replaced the point and set the gap at 20 as a guess and managed to get her running. It began to overheat so I shut her down. I think I will try a new thermostat next and throw new hoses on while Im at it. Clutch and brakes are good. Of course it will ned a good paint job but the body is very solid from the roof to the running boards. I ended up giving a $1,000 and 10 hives of bees. Bees and equipment to me are worth about $50.00 each hive so about $1500.00 I figure. Can anyone refer to some good resources for parts? I will post pictures by sometime next week. Thans in advance for any help you are able to give.

Glad it all worked out, you failed to mention the mouse droppings. For parts, there are lots of them. Go to the top of the page, near the right where it says "links". Just take your pick, for me, Jim Carter is a good supplier, but I'm sure others are good too.
