The floor was covered with galvanized sheetmetal, over the area that is removable. Was the original removable floor pan wood or sheetmetal? The recessed area where this panel is supposed to be is in good shape and the bolts are still there. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,379 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,379 | Its supposed to be metal but I used a earlier wooden floor in my 37 untill I was able to find the correct metal parts, they show up on ebay now and then and I think a fiberglass version is being made. I still have the earlier wooden floor if you need one quick. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 35 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 35 | Thanks. I have seen the fiberglass ones online and there is a guy on ebay from Michigan that has metal ones. It looks like the hole for the shifter is rather large and also there is an opening for the battery. Are there other covers for these holes? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,379 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,379 | There are two different floor pans, one for a 3 speed and the other for a 4 speed and I think the hole is larger for the 4 speed. There is a cover for the battery and I think one for above the master cylinder,I found a 4 speed pan and modified it for a 5 speed and welded up the holes I did not need and made a larger hole for the master cylinder and made my own cover for it. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Just as info I used the fiberglass. I put it in 10 years ago. The one I got does not have the opening for the battery but a few screws is no problem and I only needed to get in there once....to put in a new batttery. It has worked well. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 35 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 35 | | | |
