I have just installed a faceplate and CD player in my 53 pickup but now im looking for options as far as apeakers go. has anyone upgraded their truck with speaker boxes? i was thinking of putting subwoofers under the seat in a custom box if they will fit. has anyone been down this road?

6X9's will fit in the kick panels "verticle", and 5" in the lower front section of the doors, I put my Amp's under the seat.
I do not have the factory gas tank behind the seat so I was able to build a box to hold my subs.
currently I have the head unit in a custom mount under the dash that isnt working out due to 1 trip through a car wash in a hurry!...the cowl vent cant handle water under pressure!...semi fried my head unit it now "cracks and gurgles" ...I am buliding a new mount to place the NEW head unit in the glove box...outta harms way...lol

Underwoodrr - Don't forget that there is a dedicated "Radio Bench" forum. It is inside of the "Electrical Bay". You might find tips/tricks in that forum.

Ammo cans for an M60 make great cab corner speaker boxes. A 6x9 speaker fits perfect in them, plus they're cheap.

Just finished the sub install. I crammed 2 12s under the seat
