| | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 126 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 126 | I have a 63' 327 with the original road draft setup for the oil- with the breather cap on the filler neck on the front of the intake manifold. i have been looking around at a new intake manifold and the ones that i like the most do not have the hole for that filler neck/ breather cap. i replaced the old valve covers with new ones that have a breather cap on each one; would that be about the equivalent as the one on the front of the manifold? or will the new manifold still need some kind of vent in it? i know that air from the valley travels through the valve covers via the oblong push rod holes, so it makes sense to me that it should still function properly with the venting in the valve covers instead of the manifold. . . .right? o_0

The only manifolds you will find with the oil filler tube in them are the originals or maybe some aftermarket ones from the day. My dad's 318 in his Plymouth Satellite had an oil cap with a hose to th air cleaner. Just pulled off the tube mounted to the top of the valve cover.
Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice) \'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run. My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.
