For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 | First let me say I am not sure if this is in the right forum...I can never really tell where threads are supposed to go there seems to be alot of overlap topics.
That said:
I need a handful of patch panels for my 53 3100. I don't know who sells a better product, classic industries or chevy classic parts. I need the usual forward floor, rear outer cab corners, LH outer cowl, L/R inner cowls.
anyone with experience in this issue care to chime in?

Seriously when did critical thinking and customer service go out the window? How about common sense and striving to go the extra mile? Idiots, surrounded by idiots it tell you.

In some cases you have to select quality and coverage as all do not cover the same areas of your truck..

He personally makes them. Edit: here is his web page http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/page0217.html

He sells his parts and Jim Carter sells his parts. If he makes the part you are looking for, it will be the best quality you can buy.

He is a master panel-beater. He is the fellow with the metal helmet on, Metal Man. Do an Internet search on Ray Stanley Wheelwright Restorations and you will read many positive experiences and positive recommendations. He does not have an on-line store but he sometimes sells parts on eBay. He does not usually make one-off parts. Many of his parts are sold by Jim Carter (in particular, 47-55 panel-body parts not made by anyone else). | | | | | | OLTrucks Unregistered | | OLTrucks Unregistered | Ray as far as I know hasent made any of the already produced he trys to make parts he knows there is a market for. I have talked to Ray many times and he is more then willing to hear any suggestions for parts not available unfortunately most the AD (47-54)parts are made overseas he understands it is offen hrad to give the time to recreate an item that is already retailed at a low price. I have worked with him on many items that Carters now carrys. He turns out great work and is sure nice to talk to about needs in the hobby. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 | ahh hah, thanks for the clarification
