I am thinking of using their vent window assy's I have never had any dealing with them. I have had good experience with LMC though. My vent windows would have the be really shot to spend almost $600 on new ones. I rebuilt mine and they look good as new. How bad are yours?

Still no windshield in it yet. Replaced speedo needle. Blasted and painted former parking lights to be used as turn signals. Modified T5 shifter for dash/seat clearance. | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 698 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 698 | http://s783.photobucket.com/albums/...%20pickup%20project/?albumview=slideshowI finally have the cab painted. This week I hope to get the glass in it. I am putting all new rubber and tinted glass back in. The engine is almost complete. All I have left to do is mount the a/c compressor and the alternator. I went with a set of Vintage Air brackets to mount them. They are really nice billet brackets. Really hurt when I had to take a grinder to them to get them to fit – luckily its where you can’t see. Also had to have some spacers machined, those that came with it were not long enough and I didn’t want to stack up washers. More pictures to follow………………… John

I bought the "54 GMC" motor off ebay several years ago for the '54 pick up I was building. I found out it doesn't bolt up to a '54 GMC. It looks very similar to a Task Force Chevy electric motor but is clearly marked 6V. It had to be aft of and lower than the stock location to clear the cowl vent. Consequently, the arms need to be longer to reach it. I mounted it where the driver side reaches and I'll have to build an extended arm for the passenger side, with a bend to clear the glovebox. | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,185 Moderator | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,185 | I picked up some parts at Bill's Truck Shop this morning. Still working on the doors and windows. He said to take the doors back off to install the rubber seals. | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | I will be installing doors, weather-strip and seals soon. I had not planned on holding off attaching the doors first. I wonder the reason for what he recommended.

| | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 | Today was a good day. My bolt is on wheel dollies and I was able to spin it around in my garage. This allowed me more room to remove my bed and dismantle it. Once that was done I stored it in my shed till a later date. I also gathered the wood for my cab dolly construction that will be underway shortly. I borrowed a heavy duty engine crane to remove my engine and transmission and am currently giving thought to the removal of my cab from the frame so i can send the frame to the sandblaster.
What about the rest of you?

At first we tried to do it dry. Then we used dish detergent and it popped right in. I have the a/c compressor and alternator mounted and after making a custom bracket for the power steering pump everything lines up and none of the belts hit. Gauges are in, but not wired, as is the radio. New electric wiper motor installed and working. I’m waiting on Flaming River to complete the up-grades to my steering column. I am also waiting on the new brake pedal assembly so I can firewall mount the master cylinder. More pictures to follow………………… John ’53 5 window

That is my new replacement for my other new replacement rubber. I had tried and tried to install the window and in the process ripped the rubber. So, I get to try again. I think I've got it all figured out. I did this once when I was 17 but that was 51 years ago.
