| | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 53 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 53 | I am looking at what goes where on my truck and I see holes on the lower front face of my clutch housing(1950 Chevy 3100 1/2 ton with 216). There are 2 on each side. What gets bolted into these holes?
Also, on the drivers side there is a 1 1/2" hole. Does this just stay open, or is there a plug for it?
Dumb questions, but I have looked at the manuals and I could not find my answer. You guys are a lot of help. Thanks, Jerry | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 24 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 24 | From inside the clutch housing 4 bolts attach it to the engine & from the outside two bolts across the top to the engine, not sure but I think the big hole is an inspection hole, also not sure about a plug.

A dish shaped pan on the bottom called an underpan and a slightly v-shaped piece on the front by the oil pan called an extension. I would post pics but I need to get on the IT Short Bus. The hole is for timing. It should have a stainless steel pointed pin in it for setting the timing with a timing light. A rubber plug can go in there but it isn't necessary. Chevs of the 40's sells them.
