The truck is going in for a new interior tomorrow. Two tone green and white seat, green carpet and white kick panels. The colors will be a close match to the white and dark greens of the paint.

Tonight we will take the little hump around the shifter out of the floor pan since I don't really need it to clear my tranny and it will make the carpet much easier to do. The only thing I am wondering about is how they can treat the battery box cover so it is still fully functional.

I'm getting all excited to have some quieter ride and a "finished" truck.

The battery box cover is a piece of cake...do what we do in aviation, lay out your carpet cut out the hole for the cover trim the edges of both the hole and the piece you cut out apply velcro on the under side of the piece you cut out and to the lid of the battery box and stick it down...there you go. now when u need to access the battery u can pull up the carpet only on the cover by pulling on the velcro....thats how we get around the access panels on the interior of corporate jets, works great.

*by trim the edges of the two pieces i meant sew on a strip of fabric that you sandwich the carpet edges with, to prevent the carpet from fraying...make sense?

Kinda figured the pros would have a clue how to do it. I would like the current latch to still work.

Do yourself a favor and have pockets sewn on the front of the seats... great for stashing stuff. When I redo my seats I'm going to install those heat pads they have now... this ol' butt needs some warmth here in the nawtheast.

I decided on leaving it exposed. i am in the market for a nice one that I can paint to match, mine is all pitted but works good. I'll probably spend next saturday out at the salvage yard looking for one.

It does, very comfortable and a lot warmer than I expected vinyl to be. I just hope it doesn't get hot in the summer.

Today I went to meet Vern and looked at that inside job.
The pictures look nice but the real thing looks great. He has done a fine job restoring his piece of history. He also is a very
nice person and one I will be proud to call friend.
