Hey I found this truck in a field, does anyone know how one would go about finding the owner? No one is around to ask, maybe county tax records, but there is no address just 10 or more acres on the side of the road

Thx

If it were me, I'd find the nearest neighbor and ask them. People usually know at least something about what's going on at neighbor's properties. You could do the county tax records thing but that probably won't give you enough "real" info that you need. Good luck!

T-Ruck I wish but no it is flat bed, I'm not even sure what size it is a 1 ton or 1 1/2 ton,IDK I cant see the rearend very well with out hopping the fence. You can hardly see the truck at all from the road

If the neighbors can't help go to your county mapping department with the location. You'll likely have to pay a nominal fee but they have the ownership records of every property in the county. I've obtained records locally several times.

There are so many BigBolts at very reasonable cost, I would hesitate on this one.

Thanks for all the help everybody,
54-5-window I hear you, my friend runs a towing company and if I could find the owner maybe I could talk to him about removing that eye sore for free "wink-wink"

The thing probably hasn't been registered in so long that the tax assessor won't be willing to find anything out. However, if the property has a 911 address on a post or find the nearest 911 address and the appraisal district can give you the name of the owner of the land. Many counties have free searchable records on the internet. However, if you are in Grayson County, its not free, but the appraisal office can help you.

AWESOME FIND!
If you can't get information online through your Appraisal District (Some counties have free record search). By all means go by their office.
Another option besides asking neighbors might be hopping that fence to see if there's a set of tags to trace to the previous owner... risk getting shotgun pellets in yer backside! ha.
Good luck!

I agree, that backing a tow truck up to it would be the quickest/easiest way to find the owner.

I wish I could get a find like that. The only thing in fields around here are the fire ant hills.

Backing a tow truck up to it will probably get you introduced to the Sheriff of Grayson county.

The easiest way to find the property owner is the title company, they have the maps and are usually helpful.
