For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 34 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 34 | Has anyone installed the 1947-1954 Chevy Pickup Power Brake Pedal Assembly from Speedway Motors? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1947-1954-Chevy-Pickup-Power-Brake-Pedal-Assembly,8903.html From your experience, is this a quality product? Also, has anyone tried Total Cost Involves version of it? Their's cost $100 more for a poly bushing. Do you suggest another vendor for a good aftermarket pedal? Thanks!

The kit I got had ALL the brackets/Pedal/booster & m/c including the nuts and bolts. It was a direct bolt up. I did enlarge my brake pedal hole by maybe 1/8". Cost was $207 at the first of this year. I like doing business with them. They're located in Asheville,N.C.
I think their website is piratejack.net

Also, did it have a little play when moved side to side? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | There is a zerk but I'm not sure about side to side play. It has VERY little so I'd say its a good machine fit but not so tight it'd rub or cause a problem.
Edit: any that don't have zerk its easy to add one. Drill it out. Most zerks have a taper to them for "self thread". I just put new tie end rods on one of my trucks and the zerks came with them but the tie end rods were not threaded yet the zerk's screwed right in. Hope this helps.

thx! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | I did not have to modify anything. The bracket does NOT go on top of the frame. It fits inside the rails. I was so excited when I put it in that I did not get a pic of just the bracket attached. It uses the same holes and the bolts drop down from the top of the chassis rail and the cab bracket is no problem. Here is a pic I just went out and took for you. Its cold and I only shot one pic but I think you can see what you want to know. If you call PirateJack ask for Tammy. She is very knowledgeable and tell her Alvin said to call her. Tell her I was the one that mentioned giving Stovebolters a discount and she may fix you up. She sent me some cards that had "15% off printed on the back of them. Let her know this and she will probably give you a good deal. Mine complete kit was $207 delivered to my front door. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r19/LutherParris/52Panel/000_0202.jpg | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 34 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 34 | WOW! Anyone have a solution?? | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 34 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 34 | I know you have to modify the transmission crossmember, but I'm not sure how. I would call CPP's tech support line if you don't receive a response from here. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 114 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 114 | thanks....im pretty new to this site still. hopefully i didnt ask in a area where i shouldnt of. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 14 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 14 | Did you find a solution ?
