You can find them on eBay for $48 ... Classic Chevy sells them for $56. You can see here (check out the PDF Documentation Tab): http://tinyurl.com/2cs9aoeMike's sells 'em for $48: http://www.mikeschevy.com/servlet/the-2513/55-56-57-CHEVY/DetailHas anyone done this?

It seems like it would have to be an encroachment for things to catch on. Otherwise, seems like a cool idea | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | Hi Alan. You are aware of course that this part is meant to be inside the rear gate and unseen. On a pickup it would be visible unless some extensive modifications were made. There is an attachment part used in the door frame. This thing is like a tape measure and is not a lift part.
How are things going? Hope ll is well with you. We are safe and sound and now settled in MO and semi-retired here on out little farm.

Does anyone know of any brilliant tail gate solutions? I certainly don't want chains ... and my truck is a Street Rod, so I'm not concerned about original.
