There are some differences in the two engines. The '60 has a hydraulic clutch, longer water pump and is 12 volt versus 6 volt. It looks like the bellhousings and the water pumps are interchangeable. I'll convert my '55 to 12 volt. Is there any other issues that I'll need to address? Someone else will comment. The 12 and 6 volt flywheel differ in the tooth count and will not cross swap so if you use the 12 volt wheel use the 12 volt starter. They make a water pump adapter to use the older style water pump on the later engine so the fan comes out in the correct place on the rad. Useing the latter model pump puts the fan low on the rad and dose'nt do as good a job moveing air as it should. The adpter sell for about 40$. I assume this is a early model 55. | | |
