I found some 16 x 6, 8 lug rims from a 1991 Fxxx Van. 8x6.5 bolt pattern. I am not able to measure the backspace. Anyone know if these will fit on a 1949 3/4 ton or where I can find the specs on these rims?

According to the books the Ford rim should have 1/2" of offset which is similar to your stock 17" which the book shows to have .4375" of offset. Your stock wheel has a 4.625" center bore where to Ford rim will have 4.88" center bore. So on those scores you're ok. I'll assume your truck has 12" rear drums instead of the tonner's 14" drums. The 14s probably wouldn't clear a 16" rim. Stu

Thanks for the info truckdog. My rims appear to be 15 x 6, not the 17" rims. If my math is correct, the 1/2" Ford offset would indicate these rims would clear the steering.

Yes, I have 16.5's on my 50-3/4t and they fit fine, no trouble with the tie rod ends. They are aftermarket wheels off a F@@D 3/4t van
