Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 26 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 26 | I am installing a new master cylinder but having trouble with the brake pedal shaft. Th manual makes it sound pretty simple. Remove the retaining nut, retainer and remove the shaft.
First is this shaft pressed in?
Second do I have to remove the grease fitting first?
Third is this shaft just knocked out with a hammer?
I am assumeing that I need to leave the mount botls is to remove this shaft?
Any help would be appreciated..

I have removed the rear line, the bolt connecting the lower part of the pedal to the master cylinder that pushes the piston, the two mounting bolts, and the retainer but the shaft seems frozen. I assume I need to reinstall the 2 bolts that hold the master cylinder in and bang on the shaft. My concern was the grease fitting may need to be removed first. Also, does it slide inward toward the transmission or outward toward the frame?
