This may be been covered already but here it is again, please copy and send to your address files and bring to work.

When filling out your Christmas cards this year, take ONE CARD and SEND it to this address:

A Recovering American Soldier,
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center,
6900 Georgia Avenue NW,
Washington, DC 20307-5001.

Would like to make a correction to the above post.
Walter Reed Medical center closed in August 2011 and merged with
the National Naval Medical Center which is located in Bethesda,MD
Also,, any cards sent to "A Recovering American Soldier" will be thrown away unopened. This info is provided by Snopes.com. Type in "Cards for Recovering Soldiers and it is all explained.
Further info will be found for "Holiday Mail for Heroes at the Snopes.com site with the proper address and it also explains how the Red Cross is involved. There are guidelines listed also.
The address is:
Holiday Mail For Heroes
P O Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD. 20791-5456
Any questions,I printed all the info
Deadline for mailing a card is Dec. 9th so lets get some cards going to the proper address and help spread some Holiday Cheer.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
