Did this truck have that type or was it the other method with the rod that attached to the peddle with a little rod and cotter pin?

Yep, it was me. I was just checking with the folks here on the Bolt to see what they thought and have. Maybe 53 was a mixed year for the linkage hookup. Don't know. But I will either need the type of linkage that your (now mine) peddle uses or a new peddle.
I can send you a check and get your linkage if you still have it. That would answer that question. Thanks again for all your help and parts. You are a great friend.

I can blast it for you and prime it if you like. Just let me know and I will dig it out. Maybe send me an Email. I am going to be real busy this week. We have our car club dinner tomorrow night and Saturday is the last car show for the year....a toy drive for kids etc. Let me know on the pedal....its suppose to be in the mid 20's tonight and saturday with high in the 40's so until I get my propane heat system hooked up I'll wait for warmer days next week to do much!! | | |

The cotter pin and hole are on the other end and are attached to the bell crank which then has the linkage that travels up to the carb.

My 37 has the ball that "pops" or snaps into the bottom of the gas pedal. The other end has the 90 degree bend that fits into the bell housing and is secured with a cotter pin. Joe
